How to use 9Ltr Foam Fire Extinguisher :

 

First, note that many fire extinguishers will work on a combination of fire classes. 

Quickly decide what type of fire extinguisher you have and ensure that the fire 

extinguisher is compatible with the fire you are attempting to extinguish. ABC dry 

chemical (10LBS/4.5KG) extinguisher is a safe for most fires, especially where 

you're not sure of the fire origins.

 

1. Break the seal and pull the safety pin from the handle before use the fire 

extinguisher by squeezing the lever, which discharges the fire extinguishing agent.

 

2. Aim the extinguisher nozzle or hose at the base of the fire. It's vital to stop the fire at its source, or to remove or dampen the fuel from the fire, in order to put it out. By focusing the extinguisher's spray at the base of the fire or the source, you're extinguishing the fuel.

 

3. Squeeze the handle or lever slowly to discharge the agent. Letting go of the handle will stop the discharge, so keep it held down.

 

4. Sweep side to side approximately 6 inch over the fire until expended. The sweeping motion helps to extinguish the fire. Stand several feet or metres back from the fire: fire extinguishers are manufactured for use from a distance.

  

Maintenance of 9Ltr Foam Fire Extinguisher :

1. Fire extinguisher is pressure vessel,  should prevent collision during transportation;

2. Extinguisher should placed in dry and ventilated place, temperature range: -10°C~+45°C;

3. Preventing damp, exposure; 

4. Check the parts of extinguisher frequently;

5. Regularly check powder filled, if it is caking,  refilled new and good powder;

6. Regularly check gauge, the pressure is lower or overcharged if its point isn't in green area, 

    refill according to the position of point;

7. Recharge fire extinguisher immdiately after partial or complete use.

8. Fire extinguisher is supposed to do 2.5Mpa hydraulic test after refilled or used for 5 years, 

    it can be used again after passing the test.

  

Check fire extinguisher frequently to make sure :

 1. Insurance device doesn't damaged or lost

 2. There is no obvious damage, corrosion, leakage or nozzle blockage phenomenons. 

 3. Gauge reading is supposed to be within working pressure range.

  

Tips & warnings :

1. Inspect 9ltr water fire extinguisher at least once a month. 

2. The needle should be in the green band on the gauge. 

3. Make sure you read your instruction manual carefully. Some fire extinguishers need to be 

    shaken from time to time to prevent the contents from settling.
